Fitch: Latin American Infrastructure, Performance Sustained at Mid-Year

Performance metrics in line with expectations despite an anemic global environment supports stable outlook for Latin American infrastructure, according to a new Fitch Ratings report entitled, '2014 Midyear Outlook: Latin America Infrastructure'.

The divergent macroeconomic performance within Latin America is likely to continue throughout 2014. In light of an anemic economy, a sustainable level of demand in transportation assets is likely to continue in Brazil.

Concurrently, in other regional markets with strong internal demand performance is likely to maintain an upward growth trajectory.

Availability-based transactions such as prisons, hospitals and electric transmission lines are operating within expectations.

On the renewable front, actual wind generation performed below base case P50 expectations, yet performance was above rating case scenarios.

The outlook encompasses rated toll roads, airports, social and availability as well as power projects, each of which has a Stable Outlook from Fitch.
